Patong Beach in Phuket, Thailand!
After Bangkok we flew one hour to Patong Beach in Phuket. Our hotel was right on the strip and next to the beach. We stayed there 5 nights so we did alot of dancing, shopping and eating!!! They have this one long street called Bangla Road where there are at least 100 bars right next to each other. It's absolutely crazy fun there!! It kinda has a New Orleans feeling to it. When you go shopping there they take you to 'the secret room' where they have tons of merchandise and you can pick what you want and then you just bargain:) I LOVED 'the secret room!!' We had two full days of activities. One day we went canoeing and saw the Island where James Bond and King Kong was filmed. Super awesome!! We also got to walk in some bat caves. The scenery was absolutely beautiful!! The second day was my favorite activity by far! We started the morning by going white-water rafting for a few miles. Then we had lunch and went on the flying fox, a zip line, where we jumped off a cliff and flew over a lake!!! Then we rode an ATV and got all muddy! It was freakin awesome!! Then we saw a monkey and elephant show and we got to take pictures with them. The monkey was fun and the baby elephant (4years old) was a lil scary. When we took a picture with the baby elephant they asked us to stand next to it and then the elephant would know to put his trunk on your shoulder. It was a very heavy trunk!!lol. Finally, we ended the day by going elephant trekking!!!! My favorite!!!! We rode a 21 year old elephant named 'Noncop.' We fed him bananas and touched the tip of his trunk for good luck. This was all in one day! lol.....That was definitely the highlight of my trip in Thailand. I couldn't believe it!!
